The Chairman of Enyimba Int’l FC, Kanu Papilo Nwankwo “FIFA Ambassador” has extolled His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti on his well deserved victory at the Supreme Court.

Reacting on the news from the apex court today, the Arsenal Legend and Former Super Eagles Captain described the judgment as a divine mandate to enable the people’s Governor concentrate on the good work of dividends of democracy he is already doing in God’s own state.

While congratulating Gov Otti on the well deserved victory, Kanu assured His Excellency that his management and players will always join the entire Abians and lovers of true democracy to continue praying for God’s continued Grace, wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of Abia.

Recall that the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday January 12, 2024 thwarted the dream of the opposition People’s Democratic Power (PDP) to return to power in the state.

The PDP candidate in the Abia governorship election had first gone to the tribunal seeking to remove Governor Alex Otti from office.

PDP, who lost the March 18, 2023 governorship election won by Labour Party’s Alex Otti, had filed a suit on October 30, 2023, seeking to be joined as an interested party in the controversial Federal High Court, Kano decision that all Labour Party candidates throughout the country were not qualified to contest the 2023 elections for the failure of the party to submit their Register to INEC which was subsequently thrown out by the Appeal Court, Kano.

The Supreme Court described the application as a bubble and agreed with the lawyers to Otti that Ahiwe had slept over his right, if any.
The apex court then dismissed the appeal and awarded cost of N500,000 against Ahiwe.
