UNIZIK Don, Dr Mgbemena Wins IKB UK Fellowship

A Reader in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Engr. Dr. Chika Edith Mgbemena has emerged as one of the winners of the Isambard Kingdom Brunel (IKB) fellowship for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The Isambard Kingdom Brunel (IKB) Fellowship, anchored by the Brunel Fellowship Academy, Brunel University, London.

The fellowship is aimed at fostering high-quality collaboration between the Fellows and Brunel academics, boosting the Fellow’s publications and grant applications as well as raising the fellow’s profile by expanding their network and broadening their experience of collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Dr. Mgbemena emerged winner from a pool of many academics who applied for the fellowship from all over the world, and was one out of the two academics that emerged from the many that applied from Nigeria.

The UNIZIK don while at Brunel is expected to focus on the research work titled: “Digitisation of Green Hydrogen Production Process towards Achieving a Cost-Effective Clean Energy and Net Zero.”

Dr Mgbemena who majors in the area of Digital Manufacturing, Design and Production Systems expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the University under the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS with his vision for ‘Project 200’.

The Associate Professor of Industrial Production Engineering, who assured her students and mentees at UNIZIK that she would continue to be in touch with them, said she was determined to make the University proud by representing the institution well.

The Fellows at IKB are entitled to free on-Campus Accommodation, Free Return Flight Tickets, Full Conference Sponsorship, Visa Fees Payments, and daily Stipends.
