The Coach of Enyimba FC, Mr Finidi George and striker Eze Ekwutosiam have expressed optimism that the two time CAF Champions League winners will over come their opponents El-Ahly Benghazi this Sunday in Aba.
Coach Finidi said that the team will not see the 3 away goals as a big advantage as they don’t know how the opponents intend to approach the game come Sunday.
He expressed optimism that the players will not disappoint fans and supporters of the club.
He informed that the Chairman, Kanu Nwankwo has visited and interacted as well as motivated the team saying that the players will reciprocate by making the fans proud on Sunday.
“I don’t think the goals at away is really a big advantage, cause we don’t know how the opponents will approach the game.
“Wether they will set up to attack or defend but the players mode is a positive one and the Chairman has come and motivated the players and am hopeful they will make us proud on Sunday.
The People’s Elephant as they are fondly called who suffered a narrow 4-3 loss in Libya against Al Ahli Benghazi will this Sunday by 3pm take on their Lybian counterparts in the second leg of the first round knockout games to decide who proceeds to the next round.
Also speaking, Eze Ekwutosiam who got the second of three goals in Benghazi said he and his colleagues will approach the game as final adding that they have improved on all the areas that need attention to ensure victory.
“It’s good we have the 3 goals from away game. We won’t approach the game as domestic one but as a final. We must be alert at all time through out the game and cover for each other to enables us secure passage to the next round”
