The Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) yesterday in Abuja began a two day training workshop for its members.
The 2023 training workshop holding at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria with the theme ‘ Re-Engineering Administrative Process in the Present University Environment is for senior university professional administrators.
Chairman of the opening session, president of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Com. Mohammed Ibrahim in his speech charged participants to ensure committed participation and use knowledge gathered to better and enrich the administrative values of their various universities.
He commended the leadership of ANUPA for its effort in training and retraining of members which embolden them as they face the onerous task of university administration.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the president of ANUPA, Dr Victor Bem said the training will help improve participants’ performances and by extension enhance administrative and academic excellence in institutions across Nigeria.
Three lectures were presented by Mr Sam Mwansat, former national President of ANUPA, Dr Jadesola Babatola, Registrar, Ajayi Crowther University, Uyo and Prof. Azeke Marshall DVC (Academic), Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma respectively.
The lectures include, ‘Creating Service Culture: The role of university professional administrators as customer service representatives, Reinventing the university administrators’ strategic roles through corporate governance and digital skills in the new normal and Digitization and Digitalization of university Administration in a post-covid era: the role of professional administrators.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University has over twenty of its administrators participating in the two day training workshop.
While eleven are participating physically, ten professional administrators are participating virtually.
