A member, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo Chapter, Cosmos Chukwuemeka Okorie of Darling FM has emerged as the Imo State Best Sports Reporter of the Year of the Governor Hope Uzodinma Media Awards.

Chukwuemeka, popularly called Puyaka Master polled 59 percent of the total score to beat other leading sports journalists in the state in the list of winners made available to the press.

The nine member panelists stated that about five criteria were used in selecting the winners of the eight categories’ awards and that the Imo SWAN member distinguished himself and towered above his peers to be recognized as the Best Sports Reporter in Imo State in the year under review based on the work done between January and October 2022.

In a press release jointly signed by the Imo SWAN Chairman, Everest Ezihe and Secretary, Tunde Liadi, the Association praised the consistency and vibrancy of Cosmos Chukwuemeka stating that his sportscasting style has brought a new dimension to sports reporting in Imo State.

Imo SWAN enjoined Cosmos to continue with his positive portrayal of sports in the state and the body also admonished him not to relent in his positive criticisms of sports policies that need attention.
