Nasarawa United have sent a message of sympathy to their former player, Silas Okonkwo who recently got injured.

Okonkwo who plays Swedish club Mjallby AIF ruptured his cruciate ligament while in action for the side.

In a letter signed by the chairman, Barrister Isaac Danladi, the club prayers include a successful surgery to enable him get back to action soon.

The young player will be off football for about nine to twelve months.

The message read;

On behalf of the entire Management, Staff, Coaches, Players and Supporters of Nasarawa United FC, I wish to send our heartfelt sympathy to our former player and 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League’s highest goal scorer cum Best Home-based Men’s Footballer of the Year, Silas Nwankwo, who ruptured his cruciate ligament while in action for his Swedish elite Club, Mjällby AIF.

We gathered that the injury has ruled the energetic attacker out of action for the next nine to twelve months.

No club would wish any of its players or members to get injured.

As a Club, our prayers and thoughts are with Silas Nwankwo during this painful period.

While praying for a successful surgery, we offer our sympathy and get-well-soon wishes to the prolific striker.

Barr. Isaac Danladi
Chairman,
Nasarawa United FC.
