UNIZIK Planning For Next Academic Session With 2022/23 Post-UTME And Direct Entry Screening — Prof. Ikechebelu

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, says UNIZIK has begun plans for the next academic session with registration for 2022/2023 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Screening.

Prof. Ikechebelu made the disclosure during a brief interview session with reporters on wednesday at his office.

The scholar stated that as the revised 2021/22 session is underway with full academic activities, the University has kick-started the process for the next session with advertisement for Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening.

The exercise is for candidates who subscribed for undergraduate admissions into UNIZIK and those who want to study at UNIZIK despite not making the institution their first choice.

The fertility expert and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology revealed that once registration for the Post-UTME and DE screening is done, the institution will release the process for the screening exercise after which the candidates who are successful would be admitted as students of UNIZIK for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration said the adverts for the Post-UTME screening exercise has put to rest all doubts regarding admissions for the 2022/2023 academic session.

He disclosed that as soon as the first semester of the current session (2021/22) is done with and the institution ventures into the second semester, the University will proceed with admissions for the upcoming 2022/2023 academic session.

Prof Ikechebelu opined that the method for the Post-UTME screening exercise will be made public after registration as the University will consider some factors such as the challenges it is facing and pressure of the revised academic calendar which are key variables in taking a decision.

He observed that hitherto screening exercise have utilized various methods such as the O’Level results rating, Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT) as well as rating the combination of O’Level and Jamb results.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor however said that the options are opened to the University but the Vice-Chancellor and his management team will take decision as appropriate based on the tight academic calendar.
