Maureen Mmadu Kiddies Camp, MMKC, today went for a church thanksgiving following,their successful training tour of Morocco..
The team after a memorable outing in Morocco where they played four matches, won one, drew one and lost two came back early last week.
Having safely returned to the country, the team feels its proper to give thanks to God who made it possible for them to travel in the first place and also return safely.
In an interview with Newspathfinder, the founder and coach of the team, Legend Maureen Mmadu said it is of utmost importance to thank God for His mercies upon the team.
She recounted their experience with the DANA Cup disappointment and how God showed up for them.
She said God made it possible for her team to make the trip, had a fruitful outing and besides, the team came back successfully without any of the players running away in Morocco or sustaining any injury.
“God has shown us mercy on every side, that is why we said it is important that we thank him”,
“We chose to do it in Ibadan because the pastor really helped us during our struggle for the trip. He was there for us. May God continue to bless him “, she prayed.
The thanksgiving service took place at Christ Golden Church, Gbaremu Ibadan, in oyo state.
Apostle Dr S.M.O Mustapha JP, ‘Baba Sebioba’ is the General Overseer of the church.
The team after church service presented branded jerseys to Pastor Mustapha and the wife.
Maureen Mmadu played for several clubs in Nigeria before traveling to Europe for professional football.
She played in Norway and represented Nigeria as a Super Falcons midfielder.
After calling time on her career, Maureen turned to coaching and was recently Super Falcons Assistant Coach.
After leaving the Super Falcons coaching role, Maureen floated the MMKC as a means of giving back to the society.
She said her desire was to ensure that parents gave their girl children opportunity to, determine their careers even in sports.
She is working towards the 2022 December camp for young girls who are interested in playing football.
