Gbenga Ogunbote has stressed that Remo Stars CAF Confederations Cup qualification was as a result of the 11 games unbeaten run the club recorded at the beginning of the season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Sky Blue Stars recorded its biggest run of form, as it got 23 points from the 11 games, with less than three months it made a return to the Nigeria Professional Football League for a third spell.

A delighted Ogunbote who joined Remo Stars at the beginning of last season, made this known after a Andy Okpe hat-trick against Niger Tornadoes at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, sealed the ticket for the Sky Blue Stars.

“Our successes in the just concluded season boils down to hard work, commitment and dedication of the entire team,” said the ‘The Oracle’.

“We were focused. Initially we had distractions, even though we were young in the league, we had our target.

“What actually worked for us, was how brilliantly we started the season as the 11 unbeaten run, propelled, gave the team a lot of confidence and hope that will seriousness, we can achieve our set goals.”

Speaking further, “The management also played a key role to seeing the team achieve success, as we were never denied our welfare. The players were paid as at when due. In mid season, I told them of need not to drop any player, that at the end gave them some sort of motivation.”
