With a comfortable 4-0 win against debutants Burundi in their final Group C game, the Super Falcons have booked a space in the quarter finals of 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

A goal each from Rasheedat Ajibade and Peace Efih with a brace from Uchenna Kanu secured the Falcons’ second win in the group.

Some changes were made by the Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum as Nicole Payne, Peace Efih and Christy Ucheibe all made their first start of the tournament.

In the second group C match, Banyana Banyana of South Africa sealed their leadership of the group with a 1-0 win over debutantes Botswana.

Despite the defeat,  Botswana qualified alongside Nigeria and South Africa from the group into quarter finals.

In the quarter finals pairings, Nigeria and Cameron will battle in what is considered final before the finals. South Africa will meet Tunisia, Zambia will play against Senegal while debutantes Botswana will face host Morocco.

The Super Falcons match will be played on Thursday.
