Nkpor Branch have emerged champions of the 40th edition of the annual Nanka Champions League bankrolled by Professor Poly Emenike, CEO Neros Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
In the finals played on New Year’s Day at the Neros Stadium Nanka, Ifenna Okoye’s goal in the 22nd minute was enough to ensure the side will smile home with the bit of the cherry of N1.2 million as Umuahia settled for the second prize of N900,000.
Ota branch claimed the third prize of N600,000 after seeing off Kwara branch by two unreplied goals in the encounter.
In the individual awards, Christian Nwokedi of Ota Branch claimed the gong of the Highest Goals scorer with 5 goals, the Best Goalkeeper award went to Obioma Mgbemena of Nkpor Branch while the most valuable player award went to Oscar Eze of Nkpor Branch.
The highpoints of the finals was the visit of the NFF President, Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau who felicitated and eulogized Prof. Emenike for his immense support towards the growth of the round leather game in the state and the country at large.
Other highlights of the Grand finale was special awards to Prof. Emenike by Rangers Int’l FC led by the MD/CEO, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku and presentation of a customized shirt by SWAN Anambra Chapter.
Also present during the final is the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi alongside top dignitaries in the state and beyond.
