NYG: I Want To Become World Champion — Mariam Zarma.

Gombe state 9 year old Athletics wonder kid Mariam Aliyu Zarma has said that her desire is to conquer the world in Nigerian colors.

The child who swept spectators at the Stephen Keshi Stadium off their feet with her sterling performance on the tracks from Day one of Athletics event to the Day three described her experience in Asaba as awesome.

Mariam competed in 200m, 4×100m female and 4×100m Mixed where she finished 7th, 5th and 4th respectively.

“I am happy and consider myself lucky to take part in this tournament. I believe that next time I will defeat them and become champion”,

“After competing in Gombe during the School Sports I was told that there is a bigger forum and that was a motivating tonic for me. Now I have experienced here and l want to go higher”,

I worked very hard during training and I am happy and thank God that I am able to make a mark in this tournament “, she said

Mariam who spoke through her the Director, Gombe Athletics Academy, Prince Simon Ayuba said she wants regular feature in tournaments to help sharpen her performance.

Little Mariam Zarma a primary school  pupil  with Family Support Primary School Gombe thanked the founder of the Gombe Athletics Academy, Alhaji Ahmed Gara Gombe for creating the enabling environment for children in Gombe state.
