Maureen Mmadu Football Academy has embarked on massive Funds drive to shore up its finances ahead of its programmes, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Maureen Mmadu, Proprietor and sole financier of the club, told Exclusivenews.com.ng that a Tricycle is the star prize with other prizes as deep freezer, plasma television set amongst other prizes.
The former Nigeria international hinted that the tickets costs are in the range of N1000 for the Tricycle and N500 for others.
Interestingly, the items were on display at FC Ifeanyi Uba Stadium on Friday, 25 August, 2023 during the Igwe K.O.N Orizu 111, JP, CON Diamond Football Competition. The Raffle tickets also went on sale same day.
“Draws for the items will be held on December 20, at the Metropolitan Secondary School, Onitsha”, Mmadu, a former Super Falcons midfielder informed.
Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, who is also Nigeria Pillar of Sports and Prince Chukwuma Ubah, were amongst prominent Nigerians who patronised the draw on Friday.
Similarly, Exclusivenews.com.ng understands that Maureen Mmadu has added men’s football team to her academy.
Recall that since inception last year, the club had been an all girls academy.
Checks reveal that since the men’s club came on stream few months ago, they have remained unbeaten in nine friendly games.
Amongst the tune-up games include a 2-1win against Andallas Sports Academy, Asaba; a 3-0 triumph over De Best FC and a 3-2 win against Best Brothes FC, Oxubulu.
Also, MMFKC defeated City Pillars 5-2 amongst others.
