Apex Krane of Asaba Saturday tore pundits prediction books to shreds when they edged Ahudiya FC 1-0 in a classic semi final match of extraordinary quality held at Enyimba Stadium.

The Asaba giants with that sterling performance set up a final fixture today against NPFL giants, Enyimba International in the 2022 edition of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Preseason Football Tournament.

Pre tournament permutation had given it to the pair of state-owned NPFL rivals, Enyimba and Abia Warriors to tango in the final that would see the state Chief Executive in attendance.

But Ahudiya would not want that happen, following a quarter final 1-0 elimination Abia Warriors, a result that saw them hold their heads high going into Saturday’s epic semi final clash against Apex Krane.

But the Tonobok Okowa Boys held out strongly, tightening their heads strongly onto their necks to continue from where they left off during the Tico/Select Preseason Tournament just concluded in Enugu.

Nnaemeka Ani broke the deadlock six minutes after the break in the thrilling clash.

That exquisite strike put the Asaba Gunners on the road to their second Preseason tournament final in 10 days, having won the Tico/Select Preseason tournament on November 17.

Ahudiya FC poured out in numbers, encampment in their eventual conquerors from then in search of a possible comeback.

But the Apex Krane boys held out strongly, cutting every blade of the grass as they retained their form, shape and composure trying to double their advantage on the break.

Their joy knew no bounds on the final whistle as they seal a final clash against Nigeria’s most successful club, Enyimba, on Sunday.

The eighth time Nigerua champions and two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba, saw off Jaguar FC in the first semi final earlier Saturday.
