The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, hosted the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chiedu Ebie, as part of efforts to prepare for the second edition of the Niger Delta Sports Festival.
According to a statement by his media aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele said the visit was aimed at assessing preparedness and strengthening collaboration to deliver a successful festival.
He noted that the event is crucial for grassroots sports development, youth empowerment, and regional integration.
“The Niger Delta Sports Festival is more than a competition; it is a deliberate investment in the future of our youths and the discovery of talents,” Enabulele said. He commended the NDDC for using sports as a tool for unity and development in the region.
Hon. Enabulele praised Dunamis Icon Limited for their work in making the maiden edition a success and assured that Edo State is ready to host the festival, with facilities and logistics in place.
“Edo State is fully prepared… Our facilities are ready, our technical teams are on ground,” he said, adding that the focus on under-19 athletes aims at long-term talent development.
NDDC Chairman, Mr Chiedu Ebie commended Edo State for its role in sports development and expressed confidence that the festival would surpass expectations. The meeting ended with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to collaboration and excellence.
