The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau celebrating the Super Eagles’ impressive bronze medal finish at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco.

Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi in a letter to the NFF President praised the team’s achievement of securing 3rd place in a highly competitive tournament, highlighting the leadership and dedication of the NFF administration.

The Association commended the Super Eagles’ resilience, determination, and football artistry, noting the efforts of the players which brought pride to Nigeria.

The letter also reaffirms ANSFA’s full support for the NFF administration as it continues to drive Nigerian football forward, honoring the team’s remarkable results despite challenges faced during the tournament.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, defeating Egypt 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was the hero, saving two crucial penalties from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush.

The victory marks Nigeria’s ninth AFCON bronze medal.
