Anambra State Police Command has paraded the driver alleged to be the prime suspect in the kidnap and murder of Bishop Chinedu of End-Reconciliation Ministry, Asaba, Delta State, alongside one suspected accomplice.

Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters, Amawbia, recently, Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu said the arrests came less than 24 hours after the Command was contacted over the bishop’s murder.

According to the CP, the two suspects were arrested on 13th May while attempting to sell a Prado SUV stolen from the kidnapped and later murdered bishop.

He said the driver’s confessional statement led operatives to recover a General Purpose Machine Gun, thousands of live ammunition, pump action guns, improvised explosive devices, hand grenades, and other weapons during a clearance operation.

. He added that five suspects have been arrested and remanded for sexual offences including sex with minors, child abuse, and incest, while a 22-year-old alleged Viking Confraternity executioner, Favour Izunna, was also arrested and has confessed to killings with weapons recovered from him.

In a related breakthrough, the Command rescued four kidnapped victims, including the Chief Medical Director of Crown Hospital, Nkpor, on 10th May 2026, three days after their abduction, following a tactical operation against an armed kidnapping gang.

Earlier, the Command had also paraded Chinazo Winners Anyasirikwu over alleged child trafficking in Aguata LGA and rescued 12 children aged 1–20 believed to be victims.

CP Orutugu who said that the Command remains committed to a zero-tolerance stance on violent crime urged residents and community leaders to remain vigilant and provide timely information to aid the Command’s intelligence-led operations against kidnapping, cultism, armed violence, child trafficking, and other crimes.
