Delta Marines FC kicked off their Nigeria Nationwide League one (NLO) campaign on a delightful note seeing off Isoko United by two goals to nil in one of the match day one fixtures of the ongoing 2024/25 NLO season for clubs playing in Asaba centre

Friday Gabriel’s left footed strike in the 36th minute ensured the Marines took the lead into the break while the second came 11minutes after the restart as Isoko United bulked under pressure from Friday Gabriel to concede in the 56th minute of the encounter via an own goal for the maximum points.

Reacting after the match, Head Coach of Delta Marines, Ikechukwu Mesike eulogized his lads for the display while describing the win as a promising start to their NLO campaign. He informed that the team will work on a few lapses noticed during the game to get his boys ready for their next match and have a good outing for the rest of their NLO campaign with NNL promotion at the back of their minds.

The Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba which hosts the Asaba Centre has a total of 15 clubs vying for honours, the clubs are Delta Marines FC, Sporting FC, Chimoski FC, Holy Arrows FC, De-Sapele Lions FC, Sunsel FC, Apex Krane FC, OYC FC, Itama Football Academy, Ughelli Rovers FC, Isoko FC, Winsome FC, Tellectual Sloboda FC, Go-Pro FC and Morak FC.
