The Disciplinary Committee of CAF today announced the award of three points three goals to the Super Eagles following a botched 2025 AFCON against Libya.
In a letter signed by Ousmane Kane, Chairperson of CAF Disciplinary Board, Libya breached Article 31 of the AFCON regulations as well as Articles 82 and 151 of the CAF disciplinary code.
Libya will also pay a fine of $50,000 within 60 days of the notification.
The decision by CAF Disciplinary Board, the Super Eagles are on the bright side of their qualifying group.
They now have 10 points from four matches, four points clear of nearest rivals Benin.
A draw with Benin in Abidjan next month will qualify them to the 2025 AFCON to be hosted by Morocco in December 2025.
Rwanda are third in the qualifying section with five points, while bottom team Libya with a point after four matches have been eliminated from the competition.
