2024 Anambra Traders Sports Competition Set To Begin

….118 Markets In Battle Of Supremacy

All is now set for the second edition of the Anambra state Traders Sports competition.

From the stable of the Anambra state sport development commission ASSDC in collaboration with the Anambra state market traders association ASMATA come the sports fiesta that will see one hundred and eighteen markets in the state slug it out for laurels.

The draw for the traders sports competition held at ASMATA’ s House Onitsha had the markets divided into seven zones.The zones are Onitsha,Idemili, Oyi, Nnewi, Ogbaru, Aguata and Awka.

Onitsha was further divided into two zones, Onitsha one will have their events at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium while two will play at Godwin Achebe stadium Fegge. Venue for Idemili zone is Rojenny Sports complex Oba.

Oyi zone will do battles at Akpokoogwe central school field Ogidi. Nnewi zone will be at Nnewi High Nnewi. Ogbaru centre is Methalogical Institute Obosi. Centre for Aguata zone is Fed poly Oko. And Awka centre is All Saint Anglican Church Pitch Awka.

Earlier the Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission Patrick -Estate Onyedum said that the state government through the sports commission will not relent in harnessing the sporting talents in Anambra markets and added that this second edition promises a lot of sporting excitement and talent discovery.

The SA to the governor on markets Hon. Evarist Ubah and the President ASMATA adviced the traders not to see the competition as a do or die affair but to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship while urging the officials to be impartial during the competition.

The second Anambra Traders sports competition is scheduled to commence with an opening ceremonies on Friday 25th October through Saturday 7th December 2024.

The tournament will feature Tennis, Table Tennis,Draft, Ncho and football amongst other sports.
