UNIZIK 94.1 FM, Nnamdi Azikiwe University in collaboration with UNICEF Enugu Field Office is set to hold a one-day Media and Student Summit.
The summit with the theme: “Creating Security for our Students” is in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the CHIBOK School Abduction and Students Interaction on School Safety in Nigeria which will hold on Monday, 15th April 2024 at the University Auditorium from 10am.
The event will feature lecture presentations by resource persons including Director UNIZIK FM, Prof. Ifeoma Dunu, others.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Chinonso Achebe will present his lecture on the Role of Government and School Management in ensuring a safe space for students.
The institution’s Chief Safety Officer, Ken Chukwurah will discuss on Safety Tips for Students while former Head, Department of Mass Communication, Prof. Cornelius Ukwueze will speak on Strategies for making school safe.
Deputy Director, UNIZIK FM Radio, Prof. Bentina Mathias will speak on Challenges of making school safe while the Head, Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Chioma Agbasimelo will speak on the progress and situation of the school security.
Others expected to feature at the occasion is the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor and other top scholars in the field of communication and media practice.
It will be an interactive program where students in different panels are expected to share their experiences, ideas and ask questions bothering them on safety and security.
The event will be streamed live to give people outside the environment opportunity to participate.
