Coach of NPFL Champions Enyimba FC, Finidi George has expressed his delight over his boys hard earned point in Benin against Insurance FC.

The People’s Elephant’ held the Benin Arsenal to a goaless draw, sharing the spoils in the NPFL match day 21 encounter decided at the Samule Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday to maintain their position among the top three teams on the log.

Coach Finidi who returned to the doug out after about two months absence while away with the Super Eagles during the AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire alongside club captain, Olorunleke Ojo praised his boys who showed glimpses of why they are 9 -time league champions particularly in the first 45 minutes of the keenly contested game.

“We are happy for the result, yeah I think it was real turf battle, any time we play Insurance it’s always a turf match but away from home having that one point, I think it will go a Longway.

“Looking at the game, I think we had a very good first half but in the second half it was 60-40, they put more men in front and we could build from the back, on the over all, I think a draw is a fair result.

While speaking on the teams next game against Gombe United in Aba Wednesday, the AFCON Silver medal winning Gaffer said his lads knows how consistent they have been at home insisting that anything short of victory against Gombe in Aba after the point picked in Benin will not be acceptable.

“We know how consistent we are at home, we would build on our result against 3SC, anything short of victory will not be a good result after having this point away from home.

But football being what it is, you never know what’s going to happen but we would give our all to make sure we get all maximum points.

Enyimba still maintains it’s 3rd position on log with 36 points same as Lobi Stars and Remo Stars who both have game in hand.

The Aba Giants will next take on Gombe United in their match day 22 encounter at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba on Wednesday before heading to Akwa United.
