The Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED) has appealed to corporate organisations, development partners and well-meaning Nigerians to support the successful hosting of the 15th TIZOCATA Open International Archery Championship scheduled for October 8 to 11, 2026, in Abuja.
The First Vice President of the Federation and Chairman of its Marketing Committee,
Ambassador Augustine Chigbolu, made the appeal while speaking on behalf of NAFED, saying corporate support would be crucial to the successful organisation of the international championship and the continued development of archery in Nigeria.
Chigbolu said the 15th TIZOCATA Open, one of the Federation’s flagship competitions, is expected to bring together elite archers from Nigeria and other countries, with the event aimed at promoting sporting excellence, youth development, sportsmanship and international collaboration.
He said sponsorship would assist with event organisation, athlete welfare, competition logistics, venue branding, media coverage, equipment, transportation, hospitality and other operational requirements.
According to him, corporate partners will benefit from brand visibility through official event banners, promotional materials, NAFED’s digital platforms, media campaigns and event publications, as well as opportunities for branded activation, networking and participation in official championship activities.
Meanwhile, the Federation has introduced a special concession for Nigerian archers to encourage mass participation in the championship.
Chigbolu said Nigerian athletes who are not using the official accommodation and transportation arrangements will be required to pay applicable charges covering registration, federation charges, lunch and official jerseys.
He explained that the special package was designed to reduce the financial burden on Nigerian archers and enable more local athletes to participate in the international competition.
The Federation urged affected athletes to make their payments promptly to the Federation
Account Number.
Chigbolu also expressed appreciation to the Federation’s existing corporate partners, particularly G-Lavori Limited and SBS Nigeria Limited, as well as other supporters, for their contributions towards the development of archery and the organisation of competitions.
He called on more corporate bodies to partner with NAFED, stressing that supporting the championship would contribute to youth development, sports advancement, athlete welfare and Nigeria’s representation on the international archery stage.
Chigbolu assured prospective partners of the Federation’s commitment to professionalism, transparency and accountability, adding that sponsors would receive appropriate reports and documentation on the implementation of their support.
