The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade has sent a powerful message of encouragement to the Super Falcons, urging the team to shake off their recent setback and secure a vital victory in today’s crucial encounter.
Following the team’s agonizing WAFCON quarter-final exit on Sunday, the NSC Boss charged the ten-time African champions to remain mentally resolute and keep their eyes firmly on the ultimate prize: a ticket to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
In his message to the squad, Olopade emphasized the need for absolute concentration, advising the players to completely block out any external distractions as they step onto the pitch.
“Put Sunday’s loss behind you,” Olopade urged the team. “Ignore the political noise and focus entirely on securing a win today.”
The Director-General’s words serve as a timely morale booster for the Nigerian women’s national team. By instructing the players to tune out off-field chatter and political distractions, the NSC is ensuring that the squad’s energy is channelled solely into their tactical execution and on-pitch performance.
With the weight of the nation behind them, the Super Falcons are expected to channel this high-level encouragement into a fierce and determined display as they fight to reclaim their winning momentum today.
