Organisers of the 8th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Preseason Tournament will unveil the official trophy and individual awards in Enugu ahead of kickoff.
The unveiling ceremony, which will spotlight the prizes to be won including best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper awards, sets the tone for the preseason competition billed to run from August 5 to 12, 2026
Tournament Chief Executive Officer, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, a former Nigeria international and ex-Enyimba Sporting Director, confirmed that matches will be hosted across Enugu and Owerri, with Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri to host the semi-finals and final.
According to organisers, no fewer than six NPFL clubs have already confirmed participation. They include reigning champions Rangers International, Enyimba of Aba, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, Kun Khalifat FC and newly promoted Doma United of Gombe.
Teams from the Nigeria National League, NNL, and Nationwide League One, NLO, will also feature in the annual preseason tournament
Now in its 8th edition, the TICO/SELECT Tournament has grown into one of Nigeria’s top preseason competitions, offering NPFL, NNL and NLO sides valuable preparation ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
Further details on fixtures and the date for the unveiling ceremony will be made public by the Local Organising Committee in the coming days.
