Anambra NIPR Gets Fides, PPSSC Support, Gifts NUJ Membership Waiver

Fides Media Limited, publishers of Fides Newspaper and Anambra State Post-Primary School Service Commission (PPSSC) have pledged unalloyed support to the course of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter.

The duo stated this through their management when the Chapter paid them a courtesy visit in their offices in Awka with a view to enhancing sustained image building and reputation management of those establishments.

Dr Ngozi Ulogu, Chairman of the Chapter, intimated them about the upcoming programmes of NIPR particularly the 2026 Chapter Professional Development Training & Workshop in September, and the World Public Relations Forum holding in Abuja later this year.

She charged them to register their staff in these events and ensure they participate in order to acquaint them with global best practices in public relations.

Responding, the Director of Fides Newspaper, Rev. Fr. Mark Obiora Ikeh, member of NIPR who oversees the media and social communications directorate of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, appreciated NIPR for the massive support shown to his late uncle, Chief Dr Uche Udedibia during his Evening of Tribute and burial last month June

According to him, “the way you attended the funeral is very much worthy of emulation”.

Fr Ikeh promised to carry the Chapter along in World Communication Day celebrations.

Also responding, the Executive Secretary PPSSC, Mrs Benedine Anagor, said “the PRO of the Commission will be the first to register with you. Other things will follow subsequently,” she assured.

The Chapter later visited members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council and conveyed them a message from NIPR Headquarters Abuja, titled “Renewed partnership and NIPR Membership Waiver for NUJ Members.”

“I am directed to communicate our renewed partnership and membership waiver for accredited members of Nigerian Union of Journalists.

“Recall that the NIPR in commemorating its Diamond Anniversary Celebrations in June 2024, offered a one-off waiver for NUJ members seeking membership of the NIPR. This waiver was well utilised and yielded great value to all parties.

“Council in refreshing the validity of the partnership as operators within the communication space, has approved special membership waiver for members of NUJ seeking membership of NIPR for the period up to April 30, 2027,” said the later signed by the Registrar and Secretary to NIPR Council, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, fnipr.

The NIPR delegation led by Dr Ngozi Ulogu was received by NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu.
