ASTUC Youth now pledges the Anambra State Anthem as a daily prayer for Anambra youths worldwide, making it the wing’s official devotion.
The resolution comes during the ASTUC Youth National Working Committee meeting on May 30, 2026, where members focus discussions on youth development and shaping the state’s future.
Speaking to Newsmen shortly, The President, His Youthfulness, Comrade Ken Okoli said the adoption is aimed at inspiring young people to believe in the Anambra project and strengthen their participation and commitment to the growth and progress of the state.
Comrade Okoli urged all patriotic Anambra youths, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to recite the anthem at least once daily, whether in the morning, afternoon, or at night.

He noted that regular recitation of the anthem would reinforce the spirit of service, unity, and responsibility among young people, while promoting the belief that “Anambra is ours and Anambra we serve.”
The ASTUC Boss, further encouraged the inclusion of the anthem in all youth-related meetings, functions, events, and gatherings as a collective prayer for the state’s continued development.
The adopted prayer reads:
“With all our hearts
We pray and ask
God bless Anambra
God bless the shining light that we bear
We are the only ones to make her brighter
The only ones to make her better
The only ones to make Anambra shine
With our sweat and blood, every breath of our lives
With trust in God
We would lift our homeland high
We believe in togetherness
We’ll build a land of progress
Lift the spirit of Anambra
Lift the spirit of Anambra
Lift the spirit of Anambra, State we love.”
Also the youth leaders thanked Mr Governor for re-appointing Hon Patrick Agha Mba into office as Commissioner for Youth Development & Sports, it is a mark of confidence Mr Governor has shown to the Anambra youths.
The youth leaders expressed joy that Mba has made them proud and promised Mr Governor that the performance of Agha Mba in this second term will be doubled because they will work more with him to succeed.
They passed a vote of confidence on hon Patrick being a former President General of ASTUC YOUTH and that he will continue to make the youth constituency proud.
Comrade Ken Okoli also used the opportunity to thank the MD/CEO of Pineleaf Estates & Properties Ltd, Archbishop Onyeka Joseph Nzekwesi, for gifting ASTUC YOUTH Dunukofia LGA a shuttle bus and 5 million naira to support their programmes and activities in Dunukofia. Comrade Chijioke Egbuna Youth-Mayor of Dunukofia LGA, while showing the car gift to Mr President at the meeting venue expressed joy and happiness that over the gift. The PG ASTUC Youth used the opportunity to call on well meaning individuals and philanthropist to emulate Archbishop Nzekwesi in empowering the ASTUC YOUTH at the community level, LGA, Zone and State as a way of encouraging them to do better for the common good of the society.
During the meeting, the youth leaders also offered prayers for the leadership of Anambra State, particularly Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and his deputy, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim. They prayed for divine wisdom, guidance, and strength for the state’s leadership as they continue efforts to consolidate ongoing transformation and development initiatives for the benefit of all residents.
ASTUC Youth reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote unity, progress, and sustainable development across Anambra State.
