Rivers United Management, Supporters Deploy 13 Buses For Fans Ahead NPFL Clash

By Tonye Orabere

The chairmen of Rivers United FC and the supporters club, Okey Kpalukwu and Sunny Oguh, respectively, have provided a total of 13 coaster buses to convey fans and supporters to Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.

The move is to have massive home support to cheer United to victory against visiting Katsina United in one of the week 38 games of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) that will be played simultaneously at different venues in the country.

This was disclosed by Uguh, in an exclusive with Tidesports, on Thursday, in Port Harcourt, saying that management of the club headed by Kpalukwu revealed that the initial three buses to be provided by the supporters club would not be enough for such an important game.

Sunny Uguh, popularly known as Total, said buses will be located at 23 Hospital Road (near Total Bar), Elekahia Junction (opposite the Resto Park filling station), Borikiri (opposite the Police Station), and Sharks Football Club Stadium.

The match is the determining factor for United to win the league; if Rangers FC lose or draw their game against Ikorodu FC in Lagos, then Rivers United becomes the champion of the NPFL.

According to him, other locations to pick fans up to the stadium will be announced by the management.

“I want to say that the management and the supporters club are determined to ensure fans go to the stadium to Rivers United without any stress. Hence, they provided buses to convey them to the stadium.

“As we speak, the players’ spirit is very high, and they vowed to win the match to make us proud. As supporters, we will do our best to cheer them to victory,” Uguh said.

The supporters club chairman further said that he has no doubt that Rivers United will win the game, adding that the present impressive form of his players can beat any team.

Total, noted that the management has provided every logistic and welfare for the players through the state government headed by Sir Siminialayi Fubara.

“I used this opportunity to commend the state governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, for always releasing funds on time to execute matches.

“I also praised the management of the club led by Kpalukwu for effectively managing the club to success,” he added.
