...YPP Candidate Threatens Suit
By Chuks Collins
For accusing him of being part of the political elements that carted away the House of Representatives primary election materials including the results sheets yesterday at Otuocha, Anambra East Council area of Anambra State, Chief Paul Chukwuma has threatened to drag all those involved to court.
Sampling opinions of witnesses, aspirants and APC faithful on the issue, Hon Patrick Udoba, one of the hot favorite tipped to win by popular vote lamented that some political thugs invaded the Otuocha Secretariat of APC venue for the distribution of the materials while shooting into the air.
He therefore called for the immediate cancellation of the election.
Chukwuma who flew the flag of the Young People’s Party (YPP) in the Nov 8,2025 Anambra State Governorship election has since returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While reacting sharply to the stories making the rounds within social media circles in the state, Chief Chukwuma who spoke with intense tone disclosed that shortly after the Governorship election last year he lost his sister based in Germany.
So he brought back the remains in January and after the burial he traveled back and remained overseas ever since then.
“So how on earth could anyone link or connect me to House of Representatives primary election. Moreso, am not connected to
any of the three candidates vying for the Reps seat.
“What I couldn’t do for myself in my guber election, because electoral misdemeanor or violence was never in my character, how then could I do so for someone, Chukwuma wondered aloud,..”
He therefore insisted on dragging everyone involved in linking his name to the matter to court immediately.
Okeowele Ifeoma Chukwuma, and Hilary Uduh the other two aspirants declined comments pointing out that the final official results have not been declared.
In Idemili Federal Constituency, Barrister Kingsley Ezekwelu swept almost all the wards to emerge victorious. Coming a close second was a popular political tactician Innocent Igboekwe.
Igboekwe and Chief Epiphany disagreed with the result, insisting that the election should be cancelled. They noted that materials especially the results sheets were snatched within the party’s state Secretariat in the public glare at about 5.30pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
When contact for comments, the State party chairman, Senator Emma Anosike said that more than half of the results were yet to be received. “So it’s premature to make a reasonable comment.”
