Police Arrest Hotel Owner In Anambra, Seize Gun and Drugs

Police in Anambra State have arrested three men in connection with unlawful possession of firearms and some hard drugs.

The suspects include 39-year old Mr Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi, 26 year old Mr Abdullahi Shaibu and 18 year old Mr Obah Chima for unlawful possession of a firearm and involvement in illicit drug activities at Uke, Idemili North Council area of the State.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Ikenga Tochukwu, Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad acting on credible information in the late hours of February 9, 2026 stormed a motel located in Uke where the criminals were arrested.

The statement disclosed that “during a search, one Jojef pump action gun with breach number 21SA-0724, loaded with three live cartridges was recovered at the scene.

“Also, Mr Ifeanyi confessed to the crime as investigations led to the arrest of the other two suspects and the recovery of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, Crystal Methamphetamine, Colos, and Mkpuru-mmiri.”

The PPRO charged citizens to join sustain the ongoing operations against criminal elements in the State and urges members of the public to continue providing useful information to aid policing efforts.
