The Anambra State Government is moving to reclaim government lands and award strategic projects, following decisions made at the 25th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) Meeting.

Held on December 15, 2025, at the Lighthouse, Awka, the meeting addressed pressing issues, including erosion and land encroachment. ANSEC emphasized that erosion remains a major threat to the state, citing irresponsible actions by communities and regulatory bodies. To combat this, the council will enforce regulations and guidelines for managing stormwater and building erosion barriers.

A committee has been formed to recover government lands from unauthorized occupants.

The council also approved the release of funds for several projects, including N95,239,056.80 for water supply to Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge Fountain and ornamental garden, awarded to Double NC Construction & Logistics Ltd and N172,028,797.10 for landscaping the car park at COOUTH, Amaku, Awka, awarded to Triseconds Resources Ltd.

Also N93,416,220.52 was approved for installing a 3-way traffic light at Ifite-Amenyi intersection, Awka, awarded to S.N.U. Ventures; N50,449,487.93 for supplying and installing 2 x 10 kVA inverters at Anambra State Civil Service Commission Building, awarded to Kennolly Enterprises; and N119,111,045.97 for supplying and installing transformer substations at Nnewi and Umueze-Anam communities, awarded to Aries and Gold Ventures Ltd and Aljovic Construction Ltd.
