The Solid Miners surged back to the top of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League standings after a commanding 3-0 win against El-Kanemi Warriors on match-day 14 at Lafia City Stadium on Sunday evening.
Last season’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, opened the scoring with a penalty in the 38th minute, giving Nasarawa United a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Yusuf struck again immediately after the restart, capitalizing on a defensive error for his sixth goal of the season.

Teenage prodigy Garba Mohammed sealed the victory with a stunning finish for his third goal of the campaign, ensuring Nasarawa United ended the day three points ahead of second-placed Ikorodu City FC, who still have a game in hand.
The team now prepares for an away clash against 8th-placed Warri Wolves in Ozoro, Delta State, next weekend.
Speaking during the post match press briefing, Coach Mangut Mbwas expressed satisfaction with the result.
“I’m thrilled with today’s performance. We approached the game differently, and it worked. Credit to our opponents for their efforts. We’ll take our next game as it comes and remain optimistic.”
El-Kanemi Warriors Technical Adviser, Kabiru Dogo congratulated the Solid Miners.
“Congratulations to Nasarawa United—they deserved the win. We made mistakes, and they punished us. The league is a marathon, and we’ll make adjustments moving forward.”
Nasarawa United Forward and brace hero, Anas Yusuf while thanking God for the victory said his major focus on the league title.
“I’m delighted to score twice today. My focus is on helping Nasarawa United win the league and secure a continental ticket. Thanks to our fans for their unwavering support.”
