El-Kanemi Warriors FC secured a 2-1 win over Kano Pillars FC in a pulsating NPFL Matchday 7 encounter at the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium, Maiduguri. The match kicked off at 4:00 PM with both teams fielding their star players.

The Warriors dominated the early stages, creating several scoring chances. The best opportunity fell to Mas’ud Danjuma in the 9th minute, but Kano Pillars goalkeeper Abuci made an outstanding save to deny him.

Despite sustained pressure, the first half ended goalless. The second half began with Kano Pillars pushing forward, but it was El-Kanemi who broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. Bilal Yakubu and Al’amin Umar combined to set up Daddy Abdulrahman, who scored a spectacular goal.

Kano Pillars equalized in the 79th minute, but El-Kanemi restored their lead just two minutes later. Daddy Abdulrahman scored his second goal of the day, striking again to send the home fans into jubilation.

The Warriors maintained their trademark tiki-taka style, displaying composure and control until the final whistle. The win was a testament to the team’s determination and teamwork.

The victory will undoubtedly boost El-Kanemi’s confidence as they look to climb the NPFL standings. For Kano Pillars, it was a tough loss, but they’ll need to regroup and bounce back stronger.

The match was a thrilling encounter, with both teams creating scoring opportunities. In the end, El-Kanemi’s clinical finishing and determination paid off.

Man of the Match award was presented to Samaila Bello while Super Eagles legend Ahmed Musa received an Award of Excellence from the El-Kanemi Warriors Supporters Club.

Speaking after the game, Coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo praised the commitment of his players and the support from the fans.

“I sincerely thank the government, management, players, and our teeming supporters for standing by us. You came out under the sun to cheer us, and with your support, we achieved our goal. We’ll now focus on our next trip to Umuahia to face Abia Warriors. In Sha Allah, we’ll return with good news.”

Also speaking, Captain Al’amin Umar also appreciated the fans’ loyalty and dedication

“You are the backbone of this club. Without you, there is no football. As our coach said, In Sha Allah, we will travel and return with something significant. Keep believing in us and continue your prayers.”
