The CHISCO Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CILSCM), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka is set to host a series of events aimed at strengthening its operations and contributing to the development of the university community.
The events, scheduled to take place from August 26th to 28th, 2025, include the inauguration of CILSCM Board Members, a facility tour and commissioning of solar projects, and a proficiency training for university drivers.
The inauguration ceremony, slated for August 26th, will mark a significant milestone in the institute’s journey, as it formally introduces the newly appointed board members who will steer the institute’s strategic direction.
The event will be graced by Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, who will also serve as the chief host.
The following day, August 27th, will see a training session for university drivers, aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in driving techniques, road safety, and vehicle maintenance. This initiative is expected to improve the overall safety and efficiency of university transportation services.
On August 28th, the institute will conduct a facility tour and commissioning of solar projects, showcasing its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.
The solar projects are expected to reduce the institute’s carbon footprint and provide a reliable source of energy for its operations.
The events promise to be significant milestones in the institute’s history, with several dignitaries expected to attend, including Chief (Dr.) Chidi Anyaegbu, Executive Chairman, Chisco Group of companies and Chairman of the CILSCM Governing Board, and Dr. Tobechukwu J. Onyevilli, Director of the institute.
Other notable attendees include Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, and Dr. Iferika Igwe Sunday, Director of the University Medical Centre.
The events will take place at the Chisco Auditorium, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and are expected to bring together stakeholders from the academic, business, and government sectors.
