With just few weeks to the commencement of the 2025/26 NPFL season, teams are busy fine tunning their preparations ahead of the kick off date.
Enyimba FC is not left out in the mix as they will today kickstart their participation in the 7th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select preseason tournament when they square up against fellow Aba side, Inter Aba FC by 4pm at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba.
Both sides know each other very well and have been paired to tangle in the tournaments second game of match day one. Inter Aba, an NLO side shocked NPFL side, Bayelsa United 1-2 in a practice match couple of days ago in Yenagoa but lost to the People’s Elephant 0-4 some days later in another practice game and would want to make amends when they lock horns again today in Tico/select tourney.
The nine time NPFL winners have continued their rejuvination process and will hope to build further with the Tico/Select games in readiness for the new season.
Enyimba will however on Sunday by 4pm take on Oriental rivals, Heartland FC of Owerri in their second game of Group A (Aba center) that also has new NPFL side, Kun Khalifat, Excellent FC of Ugheli, and KMK FA of Uyo.
Group B (Enugu Center) of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select tournament has Enugu Rangers, Abia Warriors, Ingas and Diana Emi FC
