A group of former members of the Anambra State House of Assembly has endorsed Hon. Prince (Dr.) Nicholas Chukwujekwu Ukachukwu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as their preferred candidate for the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
The endorsement took place in Awka when the former Lawmakers during a Press briefing at Radisson Hotel made public their decision
The unanimous decision was reached after extensive consultations, meetings with stakeholders, and a thorough evaluation of the profiles, character, and manifestos of various contenders.
The group believes that Hon. Prince Ukachukwu stands out as the most competent, visionary, and people-focused candidate, having meritoriously served in the legislature, executive, and private sectors for over 40 years.
The group cited Hon. Prince Ukachukwu’s outstanding track record in public and private service, his commitment to empowering youth and the less-privileged, industrialization, job creation, trade, and commerce, as well as his well-thought-out agenda for infrastructural development if elected.
They believe that his roadmap for securing the state is elaborate, practical, and assuring.
The group has called on all their members across party lines, supporters in the 21 local government areas, 30 state constituencies, 326 wards, and well-meaning citizens of Anambra State to rally behind this endorsement and work tirelessly for Hon. Dr. Ukachukwu’s victory at the polls.
They also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.
This endorsement is significant, coming from a group of former lawmakers who are committed to promoting transparency, good governance, and democratic values in Anambra State.
