A current board member of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Mr. Jibril Saidu, has outlined his vision for the growth and development of handball in Nigeria.
As a presidential candidate for the forthcoming Handball Federation of Nigeria election, Mr Saidu emphasized the importance of prioritizing the welfare of players, coaches, and officiating officials.
Mr Saidu stressed that the welfare of players, coaches, and officials is crucial to the growth of handball in Nigeria.
He highlighted the need for innovative policies to fast-track the development of handball, including the adoption of technology and modern administrative modes emphasizing the importance of attracting the right sponsors and corporate bodies to support the sport.
The presidential candidate called for all stakeholders to work together as a team to drive the growth of handball in Nigeria.

He promised to open a new vista for the game of handball through the training and retraining of coaches, officiating officials and open the door for more Nigerians to get international recognition.
“The youth and women will find joy in the new look Handball Federation that we hope to build. We will encourage and help the young ones to combine the game with their secular education,” Jibril Saidu, an international arbiter emphasized.
As Nigeria is currently ranked 5th on the continent with 38.4 ranking points, Mr Jibril Saidu’ said another of his goal is to make the country the number one within the next few years.
“The domestic leagues and competitions will be giving adequate attention and support, we will also spread the reach of the sport beyond the traditional base,” HFN board member added.
He said his drive for the leadership of the HFN is anchored on love and interest for the sport, sincerity, openness, transparency, and the desire to give value to all sponsors and stakeholders.
