Yobe Desert Stars Football Club has unveiled significant changes as part of a rebuilding effort following the conclusion of the NNL 2024/25 season and NNL25 Playoffs.

The club’s management, led by Chairman Mohammed Alkali Achama, made these key decisions in a meeting held on July 19, 2025, in Damaturu.

Key Changes include dissolving all backroom staff with immediate effect, except for the Club Secretary and one media personnel who will ensure continuity in administrative and media operations.

Also, the contracts of the team Captain and first-choice goalkeeper have been terminated as the club looks to refresh the squad and 20 players have been placed on the transfer market as the club seeks to reshape the team for better results in the upcoming season.

The technical team has submitted a detailed post-season report to the Chairman, outlining key observations and recommendations for the way forward.

These bold steps the management said demonstrate Yobe Desert Stars FC’s determination to bounce back stronger and more competitive in future seasons.

According to Alhaji Ali Mellah, Media Manager of YBDS FC, these changes reflect the club’s commitment to achieving better results in the seasons ahead.
