Nigerian football sensation, Victor Orakpo, has joined Montpellier on loan from OGC Nice in a bid to gain more playing time and accelerate his development as a player.

This move comes after Orakpo spent most of last season sidelined due to injury, and Montpellier’s coaching staff believes the 19-year-old striker has the potential to shine in Ligue 1.

After impressing during his medical tests, Orakpo signed the relevant papers and was given a tour of his new club.

The talented youngster, who stands at an impressive 1.95m tall, is expected to play a crucial role in Montpellier’s attacking lineup.

Orakpo’s journey to Montpellier is a testament to his hard work and dedication. The Nigerian U20 international rose to prominence after starring in the 2022 FC Bayern Youth Cup, where he earned the Most Valuable Player award with six goals in the competition.

His impressive performance caught the attention of international scouts, leading to his transfer to OGC Nice in January 2024.

With Montpellier, Orakpo aims to regain his form and build on the momentum gained from his time with Nice’s first team. Montpellier’s coaching staff is eager to see the young striker make an impact and contribute to the team’s success.

As Orakpo embarks on this new chapter in his career, fans and pundits alike will be watching closely to see how he adapts to his new surroundings and contributes to Montpellier’s success
