.…Solicits Funds For Permanent Secretariat, Others
By Uzo Ugwunze
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has called for the unity of the body of Christ irrespective of the different denominations or nomenclature of the congregation a believer is affiliated to saying that togetherness of pentecostals would enable them become a voice to be reckoned with in the state and attract divine power for end time revival.
Speaking during the Inauguration of the PFN Nnewi North Local Government Area (NNLGA) Men and Women Executives which held at Exosia Christian Bible Church Inc. Nnewi, the Nnewi North PFN Chairman, Bishop Godwin C. Igwilo said that part of his vision was to promote unity in the body of Christ and humanity at large and to be a beacon of light in communities.
“We have vision to build something that will unite the pentecostal churches which include building a permanent Secretariat, purchasing Evangelical Bus and establishment of schools and hospitals for our children.
” This is not the time a pastor should be just mindful of his little kingdom or congregation.Today, we believe that united we can venture into politics and show the light there. For example, the Mayor of Nnewi North is a pentecostal from Redeemed Church. The Pentecostal church has produced a Mayor in this LGA. unlike before.
“Together, we are coming up to raise up Senators, Heads of Institutions, from the Pentecostal family/bloc, that will help us to interpret the righteousness of God because when the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice but when the wicked bear rule the people suffer.Infact, disunity is one of the weapons the devil has used to destroy the church,”said the prelate.
Moreover, the Inauguration Chairman, Prophet Barr. Ejike Nwachukwu advised pentecostal pastors to shun fighting judgemental spirit, but to love , encourage each other as they go about winning souls for Christ.
“Face your front and mind the kingdom business. The sky is too wide for two birds to collide. Stop fishing from another person’s church. Move to Radio/TV Stations, house to house, Street by street evangelizing where you can meet souls who are perishing and fish souls for Jesus Christ.
“There are over 1 million souls in Nnewi here. Let us go out and bring them to church because the greatest desire of God is souls. Let us love and encourage one another, that is the essence of Christianity. Let us drop strife, war, hatred, rancour,” said Prophet Nwachukwu.
Newly Inaugurated Deputy Chairman PFN NNLGA, Hon Rev Tochukwku Ikwukananne stated: ” just like the name of my ministry, ‘Oneness in Christ Fellowship International’ we believe in unity and one love without which nobody can make any exploit or meaningful impact in the society.
Earlier In his sermon, Bishop Dr Jude Godwin 2nd Vice Chairman PFN Anambra State who represented PFN State Chairman, Bishop Moses Ezedebego emphasized the importance of “Fellowshipping together” saying that Fellowship enables one to grow, provides Encouragement, reminds us that we are not alone and makes Christians stronger.
“As children of God and pentecostals why are we fighting one another when we should look out for one another and encourage each other. Certain levels of God’s blessings will not be possible until we come together as one team in fellowship just as our Lord Jesus prayed in John 17”, he admonished.
The Chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Hon. Echezona Anazodo tasked Pentecostals not to see themselves as inferior advising them to uphold the PFN logo and their identity as children of God wherever they go in order to make positive impact in the society.
“Being an example to other believers, showing godliness and integrity in your field of endeavor. Today, Nnewi is a construction site for Infrastructural Development and in the next one year you will be amazed with what Nnewi has become positively.”
In their separate speeches, PFN Stakeholder, Bishop Dr Ozioma Ozoemena of HolyGhost New Life International Church, Bishop Louis Morah of Pinnacle Redeemed Mission, PFN NNLGA Secretary, Pastor Peter OgeneKalu and Chairman 2025 Inauguration planning committee, Dr. Joe Ugwumba, all wished the newly Inaugurated Executive successful tenure, favor, wisdom and grace asking every PFN member within the LGA to come together in unity and support the leadership, to help them achieve their vision
