The African Coaches Connect (ACC) has expressed its deepest gratitude to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for launching a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering children and creating a lasting impact through sport, social development, and interactions.
The initiative, which includes the installation of 1,000 mini-pitches worldwide, is a significant step forward in providing new opportunities for young people and communities to engage with football.
ACC Founder and President, Eldred Sunju-Abbey, emphasized the organization’s commitment to ensuring that the facilities are utilized for their intended purpose – empowering young people, communities, and promoting football development.
He stressed the importance of a transparent and inclusive management structure to oversee the use of the facilities, guaranteeing they benefit the community, not just personal or group interests.
The ACC has highlighted the need for a robust maintenance and compliance structure to ensure the long-term success of the project.
The organization remains committed to collaborating with FIFA to build a brighter future for football and its enthusiasts, while contributing to the development of the African continent.
In a statement, Sunju-Abbey said, “Football should be for the masses, not just a privileged few. The ACC looks forward to working closely with FIFA and stakeholders to guarantee that the facilities contribute to the growth and development of football in Africa”.
