Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.) and the Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Board, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, are among distinguished Nigerians set to be honoured at the inaugural National Development Hall of Fame, a prestigious ceremony recognizing exemplary contributions to national growth and transformation.

They will be inducted alongside other prominent figures in the prestigious ceremony recognizing exemplary contributions to national growth and transformation.

The landmark event is scheduled to hold at the Nigeria National Merit Award Secretariat, Abuja.

According to High Chief Darlinghtyn Momoh Umoru, Director of Honours and a respected security consultant, Hon. Elegbeleye’s impactful leadership in Nigerian football—particularly his role in revitalizing the NPFL and promoting youth development through sports—makes him a worthy inductee.

“These honours are reserved for individuals whose outstanding efforts have strengthened Nigeria’s socio-economic, security, and developmental frameworks—whether in public service or private enterprise,” Chief Umoru noted during a press briefing in Lagos.

The Hall of Fame, powered by Elation Magazine, Royal International Magazine, others aims to celebrate Nigerian excellence at home and in the diaspora. The annual event is set to become a beacon of merit and progress.

Other high-profile inductees include Boxing legend Bash Ali, LSFA Chairman Hajji Gafar Liameed, veteran journalist Paul Ejime, Pastor Dr. Victoria Ben Shimfe, and many more.

Notably, Dr. Chioma Amajoh will also be inducted into the Mother Africa Hall of Fame for her contributions to continental development.

This historic celebration underscores the enduring value of service, integrity, and leadership in shaping Nigeria’s future.
