Enyimba FC Chairman, Ambassador Kanu ‘Papilo’ Nwankwo, has expressed gratitude to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, for the ongoing renovation of the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
With the 2025/26 NPFL season set to kick off on August 22, Kanu believes the upgrade is timely and will enable the club to meet the league’s strict licensing and infrastructure standards.
“We are delighted with the renovation work. Our Governor has always shown his willingness to deliver the dividends of democracy across all sectors, including sports,” Kanu said.
He assured stakeholders that Enyimba will not only meet but exceed NPFL requirements, with a focus on competing for the title and returning to the CAF Champions League.
Kanu reaffirmed the club’s ambition, “We are working closely with all arms of the club — from technical to medical, from administration to supporters. Our goal is clear: win the league and return to the continent where we belong. The passion is there, the planning is on course, and the vision is bold”.
With the stadium upgrade and government support, Enyimba FC is gearing up to dominate the NPFL and seek the tenth title.
