President Tinubu Appoints Former Deputy Governor, Dr Okeke, Others As UNIZIK External Council Members

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Deputy governor of Anambra state, Dr Nkem Okeke and three others into the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Council.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

Other members are Ofoke Chukwuma Charles Ugbala representing South East alongside Dr Okeke.

Dame Amina Patrick Yakowa and Mr Nojeeb Oriola Agunbiade will represent North West and South West respectively in the Council.

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday also appointed new members for the governing councils of University of Abuja and University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The members appointed for UNN are: Rt. Hon. Ogbonna Eugene Odo representing South East and Mr Muhammad Inuwa Tahir representing North West.

For UNIABUJA, Prof. Rosemary Iriowen Egonmwan, South South, Dr. Adedeji Adefuye , South West, Prof. Sarki Abba Abdulkadir, North West and Prof. Aminu Mohammed Dukku , North East were appointed.

Former Councils of the three universities were dissolved and new vice Chancellors sacked by the president amid controversies .

The president had earlier appointed Chairmen/Pro Chancellors of the universities.
