..Over 750 receive free Treatments

By Uzo Ugwunze

The team of Medical Experts from USA, Spain, Sweden and Italy working with the Medical team of Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital, Oraifite successfully performed heart surgery on a 5-month-old, the Youngest Patient ever for Interventional Procedures.

Several Cardiovascular patients brought into Oraifite from parts of Anambra, South East and Nigeria in general have received wonderful medical reliefs with their lives transformed through successful Cardiovascular interventions.

The Federal Medical Directors were taken round the hospital’s intervention sessions which have Redefined Access to Quality Cardiac Care in Nigeria.

In this Medical Mission which costs the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation, N350 million to host a Session, critical interventions involving Paediatric Open-heart Surgeries, Adult Open-heart Surgeries and Paediatric Interventional Cardiology Procedures are conducted.

Before now all these Cardiac interventions were routed to India.

But thanks to Dr. Emeka Okwuosa, frontline member of Anambra First Platform who brought the World-Class Cardiovascular Facility to South East Nigeria, located in Oraifite, Anambra state.

The SEOF partnership with the VOOM Foundation had already delivered 119 successful Open-heart Surgeries, 10 Paediatric interventional Cardiology Procedures, (A First In South East Nigeria) and 2 Vascular Surgeries—-All between May 2022 and October 2024.

SEOF is looking forward to more partnerships to help strengthen Nigeria’s Health Care System with Anambra setting a pace in the Health Care Sector.

Meanwhile, more than 750 persons from Oraifite, Ekwusigo local govt and Anambra in general have received Free Medicare at the Special Medical Fair organised by the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation SEOF as part of the May Medical Mission.

Quality health care was brought to the door steps of the locals as several of them with eye defects were given eye glasses and critical attention by the foreign doctors administering drugs brought in from USA.
