The stage is set for the Nigeria-Italy Business Summit, kicking off on May 21 at 9am in Abuja. The summit’s promoter and chairman, Amb. Engr. Augustine Chigbolu, stated that the event aims to revitalize the bilateral business relationship between Nigeria and Italy.

According to Chigbolu, the summit will attract foreign direct investments, create jobs, and improve export opportunities for Nigeria. The Italian government has shown its commitment to the summit through the Italian Embassy in Abuja.

The summit will provide a platform for Nigerian and Italian businesses to forge new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. Several dignitaries, including the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, are expected to attend. Prominent Nigerians in Italy will also be in attendance, making the event a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The summit promises to foster new business opportunities and reinforce existing relationships, potentially leading to increased economic cooperation and growth. With preparations complete, the stage is set for a successful event that could have a lasting impact on Nigeria-Italy business relations.

Identifying some of the challenges confronting them as they put finishing touches to their preparations, Chigbolu urged the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Federal Government to permit the concurrent operation of the E-visa system and the Visa on Arrival system for a minimum of 3 months. This would enable the perfection of the E-visa system, addressing the current challenges faced by many visitors to Nigeria who are finding it difficult to obtain visas.
