The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Senate today, 15th May 2025 recommended through election three Professors for appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor.
The recommendation of the three Professors took place during the University’s Special Senate held at the University Auditorium.
The Senate after a rigorous process of nominations and voting recommended the Professors to the Governing Council for appointment as Acting Vice Chancellor.
The nominated Acting Vice Chancellor candidates include, Professor, Au Nkemdilim Nonyelu, former Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Carol Arinze-Umeobi and Professor Ada Sam-Omenyi.
Any of the nominated Professors appointed by the Governing Council will replace the outgoing Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu.
It will be recalled that the tenure of the outgoing Acting Vice Chancellor appointed by the Visitor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will elapse next week.
