Apple City Development Initiative (ACDI) on Friday, 18th April 2025, visited Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital domiciled in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State to distribute relief materials to nursing mothers and patients on admission in the medical facility.

The visit by a team from the ACDI was geared towards celebrating Easter with the nursing mothers and patients in the hospital which is in line with its core mandate and social responsibility of providing for the needy, giving alms and philanthropy.

During the visit to Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, the ACDI who visited the Maternity ward, Accident and Emergency ward as well as the male and female sick bays distributed relief items such as diapers, tissues, detergents, disinfectants, toilet soaps, hypochlorites and envelopes containing cash awards.

In his remarks while speaking to the nursing mothers, patients and care givers, the coordinator of ACDI, Pastor Sunday Okafor stated that the visit is to celebrate Easter marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ with those at the hospitals such as nursing mothers and the sick. Pastor Okafor averred that the programme of the ACDI is an annual event aimed at showing love and affection to the poor, the needy, less privileged and those on admission in hospitals in the spirit of celebrating the passion of Christ for mankind on the Cross of Calvary and his resurrection.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Apple City Brothers Club of Nigeria, Dr. Nestor Amahalu affirmed that the visit is in line with the core mandate of the association in restoring hope and succour by providing for the hospitalized, the needy, vulnerable children and destitutes. Dr. Amahalu who prayed for the swift recovery of the patients stated that the period of Easter celebration is a remarkable time for Christians to demonstrate the love and passion of Christ towards mankind.

Amahalu said: “ACDI as a charity arm of the Apple City Brothers Club of Nigeria is here as part of the Easter celebrations to offer support to nursing mothers and patients in this facility. This is part of our core mandate of reaching out to the needy, orphanages and those receiving medical care at the hospitals.

“We want you to be part of the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ by offering our own little support which is a way of showing you that there are people out there that really care about your plight. We pray for your quick recovery while we also congratulate our nursing mothers,” Amahalu said.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief Nursing Officer, Mrs Oge Chukwuleta thanked the ACDI for their show of love and philanthropic gesture. The caregiver stated that the visit is reassuring for the nursing mothers and the patients on their road to recovery while assuring that the medical officials at the facility will continue to do their best in providing the necessary support and care for all on admission at the hospital.

Highpoints of the visit were prayers said by the patients and the nursing mothers to ACDI members and distribution of the relief materials.
