The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 8 Gubernatorial Election in Anambra State, Hon. Jude Ezenwafor has assured that he will rescue PDP and bring it back to Anambra come November 8.
Ezenwafor, who got 798 votes out of the 853 accredited voters to win as a sole candidate at the party’s primary election held on Tuesday, in Awka, vowed to become a bridge builder through which the party would defeat the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
“If you support me, PDP will go back to Anambra State. I have come to rescue my party. Don’t worry about the resources. I have them. All I need is your support. When I heard that nobody in PDP was willing to pick the form, I came in because I have the capacity to deliver Anambra and give us light.
“I am placing all the LGA Chairmen and ward Chairmen as automatic coordinators of my campaign team. I will place you on salary before and after the main governorship election. I will embark on LGAs tours. I will establish billionaires’ club. I will resurrect our party for victory,” he said.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Chidi Chidebe, expressed happiness over Ezenwafor’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer, adding that the party would emerge victorious because it has enabling structures and resources.
Chairman of the Electoral Organising Committee, Col. Chijioke Onwubuya, thanked party members for conducting themselves well throughout the exercise, and urged them to support the candidate.
