Anambra’s incumbent governor, Prof Charles Soludo this afternoon won the ticket of APGA that would enable him stand for his second and final term as governor of Anambra State, from the primary election of his party, the APGA.

The primary was a mere formality as he was the sole candidate and aspirant as the party printed and gave out only one Expression of interest form . So the outcome was long foretold faith accompli. The party organized a very quiet process at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Apparently because the arena was overlooking the newly completed Government House, the Governor spared no Kobo in giving it a new touch of class resplendent of top rank taste.

Chief George Moghalu also showed class and political strength by sweeping virtually all the votes of the LP delegates.

He polled 575 votes as against his rival, John Nwosu who got just 19 votes. Though Nwosu some hours before the primary election develop cold feet and threw in the towel.

The APC primary witnessed crisis as tempers flared which resulted in throwing of punches between supporters of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and those of Prof Obiora Okonkwo at the accreditation stage.

Consequently perhaps, the actual voting was put off for some hours.

As at the time of filling this report, they were battling with the primary overnight.

The result declared early Sunday morning, April 6,2025 showed that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu emerged winner.
